Sugar Town – Amusing mosaic of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives fit together – a musician would-be who will do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone lady who allures the inappropriate men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up ’80s rock megastars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although intelligent and well recognized; brilliant cast contains a number of actual musicians. Solar Crisis: Futuristic sci-fi thriller with Matheson leading a save the Earth mission to the sun to stop a solar flash from annihilating the world. Fine visual effects and gripping story in space harmed by world pranks of poor boy Boyle who ludicrously wants to challenge the mission. The Beverly Hillbillies: This is a movie based on the 1960’s TV series. When Jed Clampett fortuitously discovers oil on his farm land in Arkansas, he becomes an instant millionaire. He brings the entire Clampett kinfolk out to Beverly Hills. Being unpretentious country folk they are victim to every cash hungry con artist in the big city.

Dracula – Ominous retelling of the Bram Stoker classic, with Langella’s esteemed Broadway characterization lost among trendy terror gimmicks and ill-imagined modifications in the original tale. The movie was filmed in England. Cast includes Frank Langella, Laurence Olivier, Donald Pleasence, Kate Nelligan, Trevor Eve, Janine Duvitski, and Tony Haygarth. (109 minutes, 1979)

The Reward – Promising storyline and wonderful cast led awry in static Western – group of reward hunters turn on each other, as greed for bigger share of prize money motivates them into clash.
