Watch Free Back To The Future

The’80’s saw a lot of sci-fi Hollywood movies released each year, but none of these movies came close to being as great and magnificent as The Back to the Future movie. The movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by him and Bob Gale. The king of sci-fi Hollywood movies, Steven Spielberg produced the movie.

The movie starts with Michael J. Fox who plays Marty and his weird and eccentric friend Dr. Emmet Brown played by Christopher Lloyd trying to work on a futuristic looking car that can time travel.

Dr. Emmet Brown, who Marty refers to as ‘Doc’, experiments on a lot of different things but is never successful but after testing the time machine car on his dog he and Marty are excited about traveling into the future. But instead of the future due to some error Marty lands in past, in’55, where he gets to meet his parents in their teens. Marty needs to be very cautious as one wrong move in the past can put his existence in the future in jeopardy.

Every stage of the movie is studded with great performances from the two lead actors who are well supported by the rest of the cast. Other than the acting what fascinated the crowd the most was the electrifying car that touches high speeds and just vanishes into nothingness before coming out in another time in the same place. The movie was such as great hit that even today people refer to it as one of the best ever science fiction movies of our time.

One of the most outstanding scenes throughout the movie is when Marty plays Johnny Be Good at the prom of’55 where his mom and dad are both present. The student crowd at the prom is flabbergasted and stunned with the music as no one in the year’55 had ever heard anything like this before. Michael J. Fox’s performance in this scene is truly outstanding and unforgettable.

Please watch the movie. Its a story about one Jake and his short temper that has caused him pay for it dearly. He faced that in his former school and he faces them here as well, at his new school, where he finds it tough to gel with people. But he gels well with Baja Miller, the most popular girl in the school and it could be out of the love-high that he noses into a street-kickboxing match. A blunt act, but it initiated his recognition.

Jake now has his own following and offers to learn advanced fighting techniques. Baja invites him to a party that her boyfriend Ryan has thrown. Jake, despite declining an insult and a challenge first, gave in to his instincts to meet a miserable defeat. It was his time to get into the learning class.

But Jakes tutor smells things to be fishy and makes him promise not to fight outside the ring, which he almost breaks when Ryan insults him using the same words as in the party. Jakes fury comes out in the ring and later, on the streets, when poked at by a few youngsters outside. This, too, gets filmed and uploaded at Youtube, but only to turn Jakes social image better.

All that makes Jake determined for learning advanced fighting arts, which he learns but under a certain condition. An apologetic Baja now backs up Jake against Ryan by breaking up. As Ryan grabs Baja’s arm, Jakes attempts to stop it was answered by Ryan getting vulgar on his fathers death, only to turn him too aggressive later at the gym. As Max and Jake leaves gym, a few guys poke them to get nasty and a fight follows. The filming and uploading of this one improves Jakes social profile at the school.

Copyright Problems May Slow Digital Book Libraries

Google, the internet search giant, has been found guilty of infringing French copyright law by a court in Paris. French publishing house, La Martiniere, was awarded the sum of 300,000 Euros (equivalent to $ 430,000). Google must also pay an additional 10,000 Euros ($ 14,000) each day until the book extracts are withdrawn from Google’s database. The action was initiated by the French Publishers’ Association, as author’s group and La Martiniere.

Google won’t be too concerned about the size of the settlement – but the ruling may have a bearing on Google’s project to scan as much of the world’s books as possible and to make these available online. At the moment, Google is in the process of scanning as many books as it can. Books no longer covered by copyright law are made available in their entirety. Others covered by copyright may either have small sections made available online or have the entire book made available under an agreed licensing scheme.

Google’s project to establish a worldwide digital library has seen it in court before. In 2001, a class action was filed by the Authors Guild, the Association of American Publishers and a number of individual publishers and authors who alleged that Google had breached copyright law by failing to seek the copyright holder’s permission in all instances prior to scanning books from university libraries.

Google claimed that it was complying with the principle of “fair use” as books which were scanned without the copyright holder’s permission had only short snippets made available.

A deal was agreed in October of 2008. Google established a fund of $ 125m to compensate authors whose work was made available online. However, the deal was only applicable in North America and there were still problems with books which, whilst perhaps out of copyright in the U. S., were still covered by copyright law in other countries.

As well as opposition from Europe, including both the German and French governments, Google faces competition from Yahoo, Microsoft and Amazon – who all support the “Open Book Alliance” run by the Internet Archive. The Internet Archive is a non-profit organisation which is also in the business of scanning and digitising books. Over half a million books have been scanned and stored by the Internet Archive to date, all of which are available free online. The founder of the Internet Archive, Brewster Kahle, is concerned that Google is attempting to monopolise the library system.

Google, quite reasonably, asserts that their Google Books project will make millions of books which are currently out of print available to readers worldwide. It’s also noteworthy that out of copyright books are available to Amazon Kindle reader users direct from Amazon’s website and that there are numerous other websites where free books can be found online, without any copyright infringement. Our reading habits, along with publishing methods, will change to take advantage of the internet and digital storage media. However, in order for this to be truly successful, a legal framework to protect the interests of copyright holders and authors will require to be put in place.

Is An E-Book Standard On The Way?

2009 has been a good year for Amazon, and a lot of their success has been due to the Kindle ebook reader. The original Kindle was launched in November 2007. It sold out in five and a half hours and new stock wasn’t available for months.

The Kindle 2 was released in February of 2009 and it incorporated a number of improvements over the first model. Amazon followed up with the large display Kindle DX just a few months later in June. Amazon now had a Kindle “family” and, assisted by a huge amount of free publicity from bestselling authors such as Stephen King, partnerships with educational establishments and open discussion by political entities, the Kindle very rapidly became almost synonymous with e-book readers.

Unsurprisingly, a number of other manufacturers were casting their eyes over the developing e-book reader market and considering how best to get their share. Right now, the list of manufacturers who have their own e-book readers under development is impressive and includes such names as Microsoft, Apple, Asus, Barnes and Noble, Sony and Plastic Logic.

Any e-book reader that shows potential is immediately given the title of “Kindle Killer”. The various technical features of each reader are pored over and reported upon, especially when, as in the case of Sony’s Daily Edition reader for example, it has a new feature (touch screen control) which the current Kindle lacks.

As important as the technical spec of e-book readers is, it is only one part of the equation. The large choice of books available on the Amazon website, the ability to wirelessly download books – with no monthly fees and no internet connection and Amazon’s highly trusted brand name were all critically important to the success of the Kindle.

Many of the new readers will have wireless connectivity, and Barnes and Noble’s Nook will offer users a choice of over 1,000,000 titles. However, the single unifying theme that seems to be developing is the emergence of a standard e-book format.

Most of the new readers seem to be lining up behind the ePub format. The Kindle, on the other hand, uses a proprietary format which effectively means that Kindle books can only be read on the Kindle reader.

At the moment, bearing in mind that the Kindle is pretty much the only game in town, that’s not a big problem. However, in the future, readers may want the ability to transfer e-books from one reader to another and to lend books to family and friends.

The Kindle has, in a very short space of time, become Amazon’s number one selling product. They won’t be giving up their number one position without a fight. It could be that 2010 will see the release of the Kindle 4, which will almost certainly feature a number of technical enhancements. Could it be that Amazon may also adopt the ePub format – or provide some translation service?

Geoff Emerick’s Look Inside Abbey Road Studios

Geoff Emerick’s Here, There, and Everywhere: My Life Recording the Music of The Beatles is perhaps my very favorite Beatles related book. Why is that? Because it provides such an interesting perspective on recording The Beatles classic LPs.

I like that the book is focused on what was going on within the studio rather than what the guys were doing personally. In comparison other books on The Beatles are way too targeted on the biography of The Beatles and not enough on the music that made them famous. It is as a result of of the music that anyone is interested in their biography.

The book isn’t entirely about The Beatles, it is more of a Geoff Emerick memoir (with a clear focus on his time with The Beatles) however if you think that may make it not as interesting, I really don’t think that it does. I truly think it helps make his interactions with The Beatles appear more “real.”

In fact the book’s “realness” is one of my favorite things about it. I’ve read a lot of books on the band however many of them appear quite clinical in comparison. Like a bunch of facts pieced together. With this book I really felt like I was there at Abbey Road in the 1960s. Sort of a fly on the wall.

This book provides a nice look into The Beatles as musicians. We get a glimpse of Paul working for hours in the studio to get his bass guitar parts just right and we see George Harrison significantly improve his guitar playing skills through the decade.

Emerick was a very vital part of the band’s sound throughout their psychedelic period. Amazingly on his first full day as lead recording engineer he came up with concepts that helped make the last track on Revolver, “Tomorrow Never Knows,” sound so futuristic.

If you are interested in buying this book you aren’t stuck with buying it on old fashioned paper, you can also obtain it for your Kindle. If you don’t have a Kindle yet then I advocate buying the Kindle DX Electronic Book Reader because of it’s bigger size, it makes it easier to read. If you reside outside of the US, you will need to buy a Global Kindle.

Of course, as much as I like reading about The Beatles, I love listening to their music even more. I think it’s a wonderful idea to have the new Beatles remasters around to listen to while you are reading through this book. I particularly suggest buying The Beatles in Mono CD Box Set because Emerick mentions several times in this book how much he prefers the mono mixes (especially Pepper.)

Harold Maxwell Quesenberry also thinks you should Buy The Beatles Remastered Vinyl when it comes out. Forget the latest garbage on MTV, The Beatles are where it’s at.

The enhanced levels of competition that seem likely for next year will certainly lead to reduced prices – which could mean that the $ 150 sales price will be achieved during 2010.
