Samuel L. Jackson’s Best Acting Performances In Throughout His Career

If you want to discuss prolific actors that are currently churning out movies year after year, one actor that is on the top of the list is without a doubt, Samuel L. Jackson. Samuel L. Jackson has been in well over 100 major motion pictures, which far exceeds the number that most major actors have in their whole careers. Clearly the guy loves to work and we salute him for it.

While everyone has their opinion on the actor, this article will cite my favorite roles that Samuel L. Jackson has played.

In Coach Carter, Samuel L. Jackson plays the title character, who is a controversial basketball coach that cares more about the well being of his kids than the game itself. Based on a true story, this is an incredibly inspirational film.

Another movie of his that is definitely worth seeing is Snakes On A Plane. Ok, so maybe it is not definitely worth seeing, but if you appreciate over the top ridiculous plot lines, it does not get any better than this. I’m not sure why this movie was so enjoyable, but it was.

One movie in which Samuel L. Jackson starred that I thoroughly enjoyed was Basic. This psychological military thriller also stars John Travolta and has so many twists, it is almost ridiculous. If you like movies with twists, it is definitely worth seeing. Don’t worry I promise I didn’t ruin anything for you.

While he may not have starred in Coming To America, he certainly left his trademark on this classic comedy starring Eddie Murphy along with Arsenio Hall. This movie still retains its hilarity to this day, which is not the case for many movies of its time.

One final film that I feel is worth mentioning is the Negotiator. This movie also stars Kevin Spacey and is as good as hostage negotiation films get.

As it stands, this is my Samuel L. Jackson list. But with the man putting out almost 4 films per year, it is just a matter of time before another article is due.

A Critique of the New Moon Soundtrack

Anyone who follows the indie rock music scene may have already discovered the New Moon soundtrack. I heard it for the first time a few days ago and I’d like to give a quick review.

If you know anything about the New Moon series and these bands, you’re probably confused by the fact that all of these bands have produced original music for this soundtrack.

You might be like me in this case. I had no idea what New Moon was, and it’s probably because I have no connection to that demographic and I’m by no means interested in a show or movie about vampires.

This is different from most soundtracks in the sense that I doubt these bands have ever even watched the show. In fact, these are the last bands I’d expect to see on a show that appeals to teens with an affinity for pop culture.

Nonetheless, some of the finest names in indie rock are present on this soundtrack, and we should be grateful for it. While there’s absolutely no need to see this movie if New Moon isn’t your cup of tea, there’s every reason to check this album out if indie rock is your thing.

With big names like Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Thom Yorke, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and others, this is the best compilation CD I’ve heard since Dark Was the Night came out earlier this year.

There are some truly original compositions on this CD, and many of them would be standout tracks on any of these artists’ original albums. That says enough about the quality of this release.

Forget about what this was made for. These could all be the songs for a Hannah Montana soundtrack for all I care. If the music is this good, I’ll be buying it.
