At a 2009 auction consisting of items from Elvis’ personal stuff, a 14K gold ring with diamonds and the face of an owl sold for $40,000. Also sold to the highest bidder was a blue and gold jumpsuit with cape which Elvis had worn in a 1972 Madison Square Garden concert. This item was bid up to $210,000.
Do not worry; not all collectibles will cost so much. Online auction and retail outlets are great places to look for great bargains on some nice Elvis merchandise. Check regularly as inventory is always changing. Other good places to search are flea markets and yard sales.
Authentic autographs and records are two of the more popular pieces of memorabilia. A genuine Elvis signature on an album sleeve, poster, magazine, etc. Can be quite valuable and are usually only found up for auction. Because Presley made so many recordings, the possibilities for collecting albums and 45s are virtually endless. Some people prefer displaying their records rather than actually playing them.

There is a plethora of bedding, blankets, throws, fleeces, and quilts, featuring the face of The King, to keep you warm. Many times they come in their own collector’s storage tins. Of course you can’t forget the pillows. Elvis is on a large number of pillows too. What better way to get a good rest at the airport during a layover than by resting your head on a comfy Elvis travel pillow?
Perhaps you have a child who carries the torch for the latest generation of Elvis fans. Well, what kid wouldn’t be in seventh heaven if given an official Elvis lunchbox? For true devotees, you can get the pink “Love Me Tender” model with a matching thermos. After school, why not let your son or daughter invite his or her friends over for a spirited game of Elvisopoly?
If you feel as though you are missing something in your collection but cannot figure out what it is, start thinking about some less traditional stuff. How about an Elvis clock? A simple alarm clock featuring the one and only on the face might do the trick. Or for something more sophisticated, try the pendulum clock with the pendulums being Elvis’ legs. A cute addition to any room is an Elvis figurine that attaches to a ceiling fan pull cord. One tug and suddenly your room is as cool as the King.
It is entirely acceptable to have such a burning love for Elvis memorabilia that you surrender your reason. Presley was and still is an icon of music culture. His star will glow brightly well into the future.
