Within a state of enlightenment I’d begin to notice a slight breeze against my pores and skin and once more will be grateful for the wind because of how it cools the hot summer time days and allows the smells from upwind to come to me.

Or I might begin to notice the leaf litter beneath my feet. As you do your rite of passage you will probably start to notice that every object and element you look at inside the wilderness will have a unique feeling and texture inside you. Merely let go of stress, put your focus on your inner sensations inside your system and discover the sensation within of that which you are with.

Similar to the sound forms that you hear within your environment around you. With practice you will notice exactly where inside your system the sound of a bird feels and the way this feels. Likewise with the sound of wind blowing through the trees.

Merely put your attention within and discover exactly where inside your system you’re feeling this and how it feels. Similarly with the sound of flowing water, the call of an animal, the falling of a twig or the rustle of long grass within all of the wind. Place your focus inside to where and how this feels. You don’t have to describe it but to just be with the feeling inside your body of how this exterior object is within. Of being with your sensation. Being with your feeling of that which you hear.

As you wander within the wilderness on your rite of passage, also become conscious of the smells around you and the way these really feel within you. How the scent of grime feels unique to the smell of the crushed leaf. How the smell of bark on the tree feels different of the smell of the rotting log on the ground. How the scent of grass in a clearing feels unique of the smell of a trickling stream.

Similarly with your different tastes. How the taste of the leaf feels unique to the taste of a particular kind of bark. Exactly where in your system you feel this taste and being conscious of how this feels inside your system. Becoming aware of how different tastes really feel inside your system.

While you walk you are able to also place your focus on your tactile sensation of different wilderness components and then at the exact same time start to be aware of the internal sensations of where and how this feels inside your body. As you put your cheek slowly against the trunk of a tree, where on the inside of one’s system do you feel this? Put your focus and awareness on this place within your system, discover how it feels and breathe into it to expand the feeling.
