The Top 3 Boutique Amp Makers
Two amp companies that are well-know today are Swart Amps and Tone King. These two companies have been making amps for years. In saying that, Tone King isn’t one of the bigger companies out there. It’s certainly not as well known as, say, Matchless Amps; however, every Tone King is hand-built by Mark Bartel, the company’s designer. Another great amp company is Swart Guitar Amps. Founded by Michael Swart, the company prides itself on creating amps that feature both great tone and distortion while still being incredibly flexible. The very first amp they produced, the Space Amp can work well anywhere . Unfortunately, this amp is no longer available. However, an updated version of the amp is. Although it has a different cabinet, it still enjoys the same great sounds. The company do, however, produce other amps, with the Atomic Space Tone and the AST Tweed being prime examples.
