Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: A typical venture spectacle has Ford in fine form and Connery amalgamating panache as Indy’s archaeologist dad, whose bizarre disappearance (when looking for the Holy Grail) sets the tale in motion. This intentionally old fashioned Saturday matinee has everything money might purchase, however on no account seriously creates a sense of marvel and enthusiasm. Cast includes James Caan, Mandy Patinkin, Terence Stamp, Kevin Chief Howard, and Leslie Bevins. (94 minutes, 1988)

Sensations of 1945: Fame hungry Powell shows a press representative O’Keefe how to entice focus in this campy musical. One marvelous number has her tap dancing inside mammoth pinball game. Cast includes Eleanor Powell, Dennis O’Keefe, C. Aubrey Smith, Eugene Pallette, W. C. Territories, Cab Calloway, and Sophie Tucker. (86 minutes, 1945)

Down to Earth: A would be standup comedian is taken to heaven before his time, and then returned to life in the body of a cruel baron. Cast includes Chris Stone, Regina Baron, Chazz Palrninteri, Eugene Tax, Frankie Faison, Mark Addy, Jennifer Coolidge, Greg Germann, Wanda Sykes, and Greg Cho (87 minutes, 2001)

Alexander’s Ragtime Band: Cheesy however amusing musical chronicling the virtuoso and romantic ups and downs of hot-headed aristocrat bandleader Power, fine gentleman and pianist composer Ameche, and hard but vulnerable singer Faye (in one of her best acting jobs). Cast includes Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Don Ameche, Ethel Merman, Jack Haley, Jean Hersholt, Helen Westley, Jand ohn Carradine. (105 minutes, 1938)
